Q. Alteration Services FAQs

  • Do you offer any online alteration service? 

    Yes, we can happily confirm that we now offer alterations services for online orders. Please click here for further FAQs and information on how our Online Alterations service works. 

  • How much is an alteration?

    Available at any of our stores and online, we offer free normal lock stitch for selected UNIQLO pants priced $29.90 or more. For items priced less than $29.90 and for those requiring a blind stitch, only a $6 fee will be applied.

  • Can I return or exchange my pants that have been altered? 

    As per our Change of Mind Policy, altered apparel cannot be accepted for returns or exchanges as they are no longer in their original condition. 

  • Do you offer pants tapering?

    No, our alterations service only includes shortening the length of selected pants and does not include tapering.

  • Can I take my old UNIQLO pants in for an alteration?

    Unused pants can be taken in for an alteration, however proof of purchase needs to be provided. If you do not have a proof of purchase, it will be up to the discretion of the alterations manager and a $6 fee may just be applied. Please ensure that the pants have been washed prior to bringing them into the store. This also includes pants purchased from UNIQLO.com.au. 

  • Can I still alter pants, if I don’t have the receipt?

    This will have to be up to the discretion of the alterations manager in store. If your pants are in a fine condition to be altered but you don't have your receipt, you may just have to pay a $6 alterations fee as the price you paid for the pants cannot be verified. 

  • How long do your alterations take?

    They can take 1 day for those requiring a blind stitch, and lock stitch can be done on the same day depending on how busy the store is. You will always be given a pick up time on your alterations slip.

  • How long are alterations held for?

    Pants that have been altered, are kept and held for pickup from our stores for up to 30 days from the day they are altered in stores. Should the pants not be collected within this time frame, the store will dispose of the pants. 

  • Can I bring my pants in twice to get altered?

    You are more than welcome to bring your pants again into a store for further alteration if they have already been altered previously. However, proof of purchase will need to be presented again. We are unable to guarantee if a fee will be required for the alterations again and this will be up to the discretion of the alterations manager.

  • Do you alter shirts or sleeves?

    Unfortunately, at this stage we do only have the alteration service available for selected jeans and pants. We are unable  to alter any of our other UNIQLO products including  the length of sleeves on our shirts or jackets.

  • Do you alter Non-Uniqlo pants or jeans?

    No, unfortunately we do not. Our alteration service is exclusively for UNIQLO jeans and pants only. We will not perform an alteration on any other brand and / or make of jeans or pants.
